And after being approached by the Offices of Mayor Frank G. Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, on her third consecutive day of running 23 miles, Suzanne Africa Engo greeted & danced with the participants of the John T. Carey AIDS Walk. Check out the video!

And as if running for the fight against the AIDS Pandemic isn’t enough, Suzanne Africa Engo has also joined forces with Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama (like Oprah Winfrey) and encourages others to remember that when someone says “it can’t happen” to say “YES IT CAN!” Check out the video below .. .. ..

Last night, I had the opportunity to speak (via email) with Suzanne Africa Engo. Here’s what she had to say:

“1. Small town America & Africa have a lot in common. They don’t know much about each other yet they are both welcoming to me. They both have the possibility to be huge change makers but haven’t totally realized it. And,I worry a bit about mainstreet america thinking the AIDS Pandemic is so far away and cannot happen here -where there is lack of education there is the possibility of AIDS infection.

Also, I think people see celebrity activists as “having the problem covered” so I think celebrities should make three stops

a) to visit the problem first hand.

b) to speak with the United Nations & the media.

c) to reach out to small towns, gyms, and the streets etc.”

On Saturday morning, Suzane Africa Engo will be running towards Toledo, Ohio. And then she’ll be heading toward the “Hoosier State” of Indiana. So open your doors, and look for the African American Women in the ASICS GT 2130.
