"The Iyengar Yoga Teacher approach to Hatha yoga classes is firmly based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga as expounded by Patanjali in his classic treatise, The Yoga Sutras. Iyengar yoga emphasizes the development of strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, as well as concentration (Dharana) and meditation (Dhyana)".  - Iyengar Yoga Institute

"The Human mind can be thought of as a lake.

When a lake is calm, it sits still, the reflection is clear.

Yet sometimes, a pebble falls into the lake and creates rings of disturbance.

And eventually, the rings can grow and disturb the clear reflection of the lake.

Then everything, around and within the lake, is disturbed..

The same is with the mind .. ..

So, keep your mind still . .. .

And don't be influenced by the pebbles which fall within your path."

"Amused like a mother,

dispassionate like a sage,

doggedly like an endurance cyclist,

breathing like a twisted Yogi . . . . . . you go on."

Most Influential Yogic Text?
I understand that you may pull knowledge and understanding from many different places however I have 2 questions.. if you can answer within the parameters of the question I'd LOVE it but if not, I will forgive : )

1.) When you first began your Yogic Journey, which text on the subject did you find most helpful. (if you'd like to break down into 2 answers for just posture & another reccomendation for the more universal / spiritual aspects that's cool)

2.) Now... if you could choose only one Yogic Text to have access to for the rest of this life, which would it be?

: )

Me? I can't answer yet.. but I'm itchin to hear yours!
