AIDS LifeCycle – “Where do I go from here?”

Free Will Astrology – by Rob Brezsny
S.F. Weekly – July 5 – 11, 2006
"Like a bird, you seem to have the ability to defy gravity lately.  You’re acting with the epansiveness that comes from having a wide-ranging, high-in-the-sky view of life.  Sometimes you remind me of a thunderbird, which among Native Americans was a mythical raptor that carried messages between spiritual beings.  Its eyes unleashed lightning and its enourmous wings beat so hard that they spawned storms.  But sometimes, Scorpio, you’re more like a nightingale – a small, graceful songbird that sings beautiful, complicated songs at night when no other bird is singing.  Congratulations on your versatility.  Only you could pull off being half- thunderbird and half- nightingale."

Over the years, I have made a personal commitment to:
1.  Preparing my mind & body for the AIDS LifeCycle Event by participating in training rides  (the first 6 months of each year).

2.  Walking a new path and seeing what it brings (the last 6 months of the year).

During the last few weeks (since the conclusion of the AIDS LifeCycle Event,)

Instead of rising at 5:30am ..I stand from my bed at 7:30am.

Instead of having coffee for breakfast ….I walk to the Atlas Cafe.

Instead of going on a Sunday morning training ride  …I sit on the roof top and watch the people pass by .. . ..

Instead of rushing to get things done  . . . .. I sit and ponder, "where do I go from here?"

From a "Thunderbird to a "Nightingale."  The Yang to the Yin /or/ Yin and Yan –

In the last weeks, I’ve Aids_lifecycle_cyclist
participated in the San Francisco Gay Day Festivities.

After 10 years of cycling over towards Nicasio, I visited the Spirit Rock Meditation Center.  And, I listened to the Buddhist teachings of Jack Kornfield.

I’ve began a series of  Yoga Classes on Ocean Beach.

I’ve began to plan my departure for a 150 cycling trek, organized by the Dharma Wheels Foundation, along the scenic backroads of Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino Counties – beginning at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in west Marin County, and ending at Abhayagiri Monastery in Redwood Valley including a stop at City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

And, I’ll keep you posted on what tomorrow brings.  Worst comes to worst …listen for the "Nightingale."

Wishing the best of all possible worlds,
