US Marine Corps Marathon

In 2011, at the age of 50, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and do something out of the ordinary.

On 29 July 2012,  after one year of marathon training, I became part of the 1% of 1% of the U.S. Population that completes a full 26.2 mile marathon by completing the San Francisco Marathon.

On 26 October 2014, I ran the “People’s Marathon” in honor of the 26 Years of military service of Master Gunnery Sgt. Ralph Anthony Eason [my father].

By mile 15, I was suffering from IT Band Syndrome. The pain was screaming loud and clear!

Yet every time the U.S. Marine Corps Service Men yelled out “Master Guns,” I stepped up my stride.

And, I took my tired ass over that finish line.

I could not have done it without the support of “the United States Marines.”

Semper Fidelis!
