Happy Birthday to Tony – Iyengar Yoga teacher – AIDS LifeCycle, Cyclist
Today at 8:30am., I got up for my traditional morning coffee, shower and song. And then, I began to smile.
It occurred to me:
I had begun my 43rd year of existence.
And that some how, I had survived another anniversary, another birthday . . .
And then, I closed the shower stall, reached for the warm water, and began to sing.
“But whether I’m the rose
Of sheer perfection,
Or freckle on the nose
Of life’s complexion,
The cinder or the shiny apple of its eye.
I gotta fly once,
I gotta try once,
Only can die once, right, sir?
Ooh, love is juicy,
Juicy, and you see
I gotta have my bite, sir!
Get ready for me, love,
‘Cause I’m a “comer,”
I simply gotta march,
My heart’s a drummer.
Don’t bring around a cloud
To rain on my parade!”
Thank you all for a wonderful 43 years,
Wishing the best of all possible worlds,
tony
