Yoga Teachers – San Diego

Over the years, I  have witnessed many a yoga students & yoga teachers flocking to the Tuscan countryside of Italy; the chateau gardens of France; the Pyrenees of Spain; and the epic waterfalls & rain forest of Costa Rica with the intentions of enriching their hatha yoga practice.

However, similar to campers who’s outdoor adventures & camping experiences reside within the safe confinements of their Sports Utility Vehicle, – yoga students bring their mundane yoga practices (as carry on luggage) on vacations.  They repeatedly attend yoga retreats hosted by their hometown, primary yoga teachers.  And therefore, yoga students overlook the opportunity to experience the indigenous yoga teachers of their travel destinations.

As a yoga student, I find great joy in experiencing the yoga teachers which are native to the area of my travels.

In October 2010, I visited the Yoga Studios of Berlin Germany.

And in September 2011, I will be teaching yoga in Oceanside, California.  Therefore, I have a grand opportunity to experience the yoga studios and yoga teachers of San Diego County.  Check out the possibilities below:

Yoga Teachers – San Diego

“People come to CorePower Yoga for physical and emotional nourishment.  The physical benefits come from the yoga itself.  The emotional benefits come not only from the yoga, but also from the connection with our community.

An authentic passion for people and our environment has been part of the CorePower Yoga mission since our inception and is embraced by everyone from our instructors to the CEO.  We invite you to get to know some of the people who hold it together.” –

“We offer a variety of yoga styles and levels in a welcoming, safe and non-competitive environment. We look forward to sharing the joys and benefits of yoga with you.New students click here

Yoga Teacher – Paul Tucci

“Teaching is always inspiring when you see the transformation of the students over the yoga session. Yoga can be very gentle, or can be more strenuous. The person has to know himself to find that balance. Exploring the ego and our fear is part of the experience, too.Yoga is meditation. Yoga is also the asanas (poses), and it is, very importantly, the breath. It is an ancient practice brought to the West from India through a long lineage of teachers. There are many styles to choose from, and many different levels of classes. It is important to do some research, or try a few different modalities and see what works for yourself.”

Iyengar Yoga Studios of San Diego

“The BKS Iyengar Yoga Centers of San Diego were established in 1979 and have a long tradition of teaching Iyengar yoga to San Diego residents and visitors alike. The Center has two fully equipped locations in San Diego, California. All classes are taught by teachers trained in Iyengar Yoga. Classes run 1 1/2 hours.”

The Yoga Body Oceanside

“It is important that we be aware of healthy alternatives to dealing with stress or boredom; ways that do not involve drug and alcohol abuse or some other type of self-harm. We create a serene, welcoming environment that encourages non-competitive strength building and personal development. As well we have community outreach for practicing yoga and meditation in a safe environment. My studio & staff are also serving clients at multiple sites.

The Yoga Body Oceanside was founded in 1999 by Mary Neal. We invite everyone to come in and strengthen their body, re-awaken their focus and develop their intention in a non-competitive community that encourages an acceptance of self. All classes are 90 minutes unless noted.”

Infinite Yoga

“You’ll find peace, joy and clarity of mind at this studio – not by sitting still and meditating but through hard-work, sweat and intense focus.

You’ll develop outer strength, stamina, flexibility and the lean healthy body that comes from consistent practice of this powerful style of yoga. Through the outer physical you’ll reach depths of inner strength, confidence and peace of mind.”

The Little Yoga Studio

“Our goal is to offer outstanding service and creating a strong yoga community in San Diego. We are committed to high quality instruction in a safe, friendly, inclusive atmosphere serving people who have or want to attain a healthy lifestyle by practicing yoga.”

Ashtanga Yoga Center – Carlsbad, California

Tim Miller has been studying and teaching Ashtanga Yoga for over thirty years and was the first American certified to teach by Pattabhi Jois at Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, India. Tim has a thorough knowledge of this ancient system, which he imparts in a dynamic, yet compassionate and playful manner. “My goal as a teacher is to inspire a passion for practice. The practice itself, done consistently and accurately, is the real teacher.” Tim teaches workshops and retreats throughout the United States and abroad.
