World AIDS Day – San Francisco General Hospital & AIDS LifeCycle

01 December 2005 – World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day - 2005

Sometimes we want to help others, but we are so overwhelmed by all that needs to be done in this world that we don’t know where to start. We hope that tomorrow or next week, when everything calms down, we will be able to become the actively compassionate human beings we know we can be. We put off goodness like we put off going on a diet.

Yet today, I stood up at 7:00am. And although I was confronted by the rain, I cycled down to the San Francisco Flower Mart. And, I purchased some long stem roses; attached a letter to each flower. And soon later, I visited the San Francisco General Hospital.

Whatever you decide to do for World AIDS Day, the most important thing is that you follow its basic principals by raising awareness and understanding where you live and by remembering the millions living with HIV or suffering because of AIDS.
