Tony Eason arrives in Chicago to meet Suzanne Africa Engo

So, it’s 6:18am, Sunday, 16 November 2008. And, I have embarked on a journey quite different from any journey I have ever experienced. At the moment, I am sitting on American Airlines, Flight #### from San Francisco International (SFO) to “The Windy City,” Chicago, Illinois (Ohara) to meet a total stranger ……

San Francisco Airport

Question: – “So, why does one leave the 75 degree, sunny weather of San Francisco to visit the 29 degree snowy weather of Chicago’s Lincoln Park?”

Answer: “To greet, applaud, and congratulate, a fellow athlete & AIDS Activist for a job well done. To step outside of my comfort zone. And, to continue to be an addition in the fight against the AIDS Pandemic.

12:00 noon, Sunday, 16 November 2008 – I’ve now landed in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. And for the first time in 7 years, I am walking in the snow. Yet, thanks to a gift of my yoga student & friend, Lindsey, I’m properly dressed in my Fur lined Parka, wool pants, wool scarf, wool hat, long underwear & cashmere sweater. And thanks to thoughtfulness of my yoga student, Dan, I am heading towards my temporary residence (for 48 hours) to connect with Michael S.

7:00am, Tomorrow, I’ll continue the story from a parking lot near Harpo Studios. And tomorrow’s going to be VERY BIG!

Love, tony

  1. Tony, You are a wonderful example of what support and compassion for fellow beings is all about. Albeit much colder than SF, I hope you enjoy Chi-town. If you are looking for good veg eats try Chicago Diner or Victory’s Banner.

Can’t wait to see the photos from Harpo Studios. Go Suzanne!

  2. Angel Tony…you certainly as Sean Corn would say “take your yoga off the mat and into the world”. I am in gratitude for the day the Universe decided to bring our paths across one another. keep beaming that light and spreading the world, you have many Angels at your disposal. I love you. THIS IS OUR TIME BABY!!!
