Yoga to the People

Five minutes ago, one of my yoga students sent me an email that stated the following:
“This is why i love you, tony ….”

Attached to the email was a link to an interview published in the New York Times – an interview with founder of Yoga to the People, Mr. Gumucio.

Within the article, Mr. Gumucio. stated the following:

1. ” …….. Yoga isn’t about a pristine environment — yogis can work downward dog to downward dog, no matter where they are, even if in a crowded, unadorned studio. Being able to do yoga with a foot in your face, that is a really powerful practice, …..Try being calm and peaceful in your car when someone cuts you off…….”

2. ” … .. ..“There will be no correct clothes, There will be no proper payment, There will be no right answers … No ego no script no pedestals.”

Over the past 10 years, as a yoga student & yoga teacher, I have worked very hard at preserving donation yoga classes and cultivating pratyahara. Therefore, I applaud Mr. Gumucio’s way of thinking.

THANK YOU Mr. Gumucio for everything which you do …

And keep up the “good” work = ” ….. making yoga accessible to every individual regardless of finances.”
