In 2002, I committed myself to the 2yr Advanced Teacher Training Program of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco.

During this training, I realized I was in the advanced yoga teacher training program to learn to stand with integrity and acquire a deeper knowledge of the meaning of Yoga.

Also, I realized, in order to stand with integrity and/or practice hatha yoga:

I had to quit debating over the pros and cons of various yoga styles;
I had to quit critiquing the knowledge of various yoga teachers.
I had to quit gloating at my self claimed glorious postures.
I had to sit quietly and listen closely.

And now, 12 years later, I still reflect on that 2 year experience. And, I have developed great respect for the Senior Iyengar Yoga Teachers.

Therefore, I invite you to develop a deeper & true understanding of Hatha Yoga. I invite you to step out of your comfort zone. I invite you to practice yoga with someone greater than I. I invite you to sit with, witness and learn from Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Kathy Alef.

Kathy has been a student and practitioner of yoga since 1976. She has been deeply and profoundly touched by the sensitive teachings of yoga guru, B.K.S. Iyengar. Over the past 35 years, Kathy has traveled often to Pune, India to study directly under B.K.S. Iyengar, as well as with his children, Geeta and Prashant Iyengar.

Aside from being a certified Iyengar instructor, she is also faculty chair and staff member of the two year teacher training course sponsored by the Iyengar Yoga Institue of San Francisco.
