AIDSLifecycle – Day One – A tribute to Edna Flores

Good morning everyone! It’s 05 June 2005, 3:40am. And, I’m about to jump in the shower and take my ass on a journey of a lifetime.

But before I go, I must acknowledge an AIDSLifeCycle training ride leader, a fellow cyclist, a Yoga student, a law student, and friend, Edna Flores.

Edna Flores

Yesterday, as I spoke with Edna, she informed me that because of personal challenges (out of her control), she had to drop out of this year’s line up for AIDSLifeCycle #4.

Well Edna, I’ve admired your commitment to AIDSLifeCycle. And, I want you to know that I (and several others) will be thinking of you “every step of the way.”

Much love to you Edna …and see you on the road …

  1. Tony Dear,

I decided to go to your webpage to hear your audioblog. Even though things did not go as planned, I was really stunned by the entry you put about me.

Honestly, that really made my day, my week, my year.

Not being with you and 1,600 other riders and 400 roadies make me really sad, especially in the times I face with all the challenges I am facing and have faced (seen in my blog).

Yet is the many caring people in the world like you and many others that have made my life so rich and wonderful despite life’s hurdles and pebbles thrown into one’s lake.

Again, thank you so much for your kind and wonderful words.

    Tootles and tailwinds,
    Edna :)
